BAND DOT GOATFISH(LONG BARBEL GOATFISH)-parupeneus macronema

Common goatfish, found anywhere between 1-50m. This particular one was caught at 47m on a piece of squid. The interesting thing about goatfish is the two appendages found under the lower lip.
These appendages are used like little hands to dig around and under debris for crustatians, worms and any other titbits they can find....
Many, many moons ago, when the Roman Empire was still a force to be contended with, it is said that a goatfish was traded for its weight in silver......
